My sorority, Phi Sigma Sigma was paired with Pi Kappa Phi and Delta Tau Delta for the Homecoming competitions. We received third place at the Variety Show on Tuesday, September 30th. I had a lot of fun dancing, but I am relieved it is over because practicing every night kept me very busy! We chose musical heroes as our hero for Homecoming. We danced to songs by Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Whitney Houston, Frank Sinatra, Madonna, Beyoncé, and Elvis.
Everyone was pumped up for the Homecoming football game against North Dakota State at Yell Like Hell, the annual pep rally in Western Hall. My sorority, Phi Sigma Sigma received third place in Yell Like Hell.
Before the big game on Saturday, WIU alumni and friends celebrated Homecoming 2014 at “The Right Place” tent and Q Lot. Although the Leathernecks didn’t win, they put up a good fight against North Dakota State and everyone had fun cheering for them.
